Adding an * to a renge of cells

I AM COMBINING 4 CELLS TOGETHER IN ONE CELL TO CREATE A BAR CODE. I NEED TO
ADD AN * BEFORE THE FIRST AND LAST NUMBER. ANY SUGGESTIONS??

EX. OF FORMULA AS IS NOW

=(A1&B1&C1&D1)
RESULT CELL A3
HA128373VENDORXL1PC19000 - ALL IN BARCODE

I NEED THE BAR CODE TO READ
