Fixing broken hyperlinks in Excel workbook

I'm having a problem with an Excel spreadsheet downloaded from Reuters.com.
They call it an "Excel Consol", and on the worksheet are what are supposed to
be links to some of their online content. I have Excel 2000 on Microsoft XP
SP2 under IE6. When I click on one of their links I get the following
message from Notepad:
"cannot find the C:\Documents and Settings\Dick\Local
Settings\temporary\Internet files\content.IE5\VJGNGIKE\spages[1].htm file
Do you want to create a new file?"

If I say "yes", I get a blank Notepad page.

Can anyone decode what's happening and provide a resolution?

Basically the links were created as a map to get from "A" to "Z" and are now
trying to get fro "R" to "Z" using the same roadmap. If you don't know what
path to write, try Rt-Clicking the link and choose Edit Hyperlink in order to
redefine it. |:)

How do I redefine it? After right clicking, and going to "edit hyperlink" on
the left side of the menu are such choices as :
link to existing file or web page.

There's also a place called "text to display", type the file or web page name

There's also "browse for file or web page."

Bottom line, once I get to "edit hyperlink" what am I supposed to do to make
the hyperlink work correctly?

Thanks,
