Settings Keep Changing to Manual Calculation

Lately certain programs I work with through excel have been changing to
manual calculation. I always want these programs on automatic, and there
seems to be no rhyme or reason to the changes. This is a big problem because
sometimes I won't notice until something looks really wrong. Is this a
setting that is linked to a ceratain workbook or to a certain computer? Do
you have any idea why this setting would change?

Thanks

Settings Keep Changing to Manual Calculation

If you open a workbook which had been saved with manual calculation
set, then Excel will take that setting as default, so that if you open
another file in the same Excel instance and save it, then it will be
set to manual the next time you open it. To avoid it propagating
through a lot of files, always close Excel before opening another
file.

Hope this helps.

Settings Keep Changing to Manual Calculation

Pete,

Thanks a lot for your help. All of my workbooks should be on automatic
calculation to begin with, do you know any reason why they would switch to
manual without me actually changing them?

Thanks
