Copy/Paste Conditional Format
 

I want to copy the conditional format of a cell or range of cells, and paste
them to another range of cells, but without changing the default style of the
cell (i.e. I don't want to change the borders)

Any help much appreciated.

Paul,

One possibility is to copy the cell with the CF, then at the destination, use Paste
Special - "All except borders". This will cause the loss of the cell contents, as it'll be
overwritten by the paste.

If you're OK with macros, we'll write you one that copies only the CF. I THINK we can. It
can be invoked by a keyboard shortcut, toolbar button, graphic on the sheet.

Earl - many thanks for your help so far.

I can see that using this method, followed by a formula copy may give me the
results I'm looking for.

I'm completely comfortable with macros - I've even tried myself, which works
with 'simple' references, but when the condition formula starts getting more
complex, then it gets beyond me.
