disabling excel 2007
I need to have both Excel 2003 and 2007 because some programs I use for my
business aren't fully compatible with 2007. Is there a way to temporarilly disable 2007 so that when a program attempts to download a file to Excel, it will open 2003 NOT try to open 2007 -- Lynn K |

Hi Lynn
In Windows Explorer, got to ToolsFolder OptionsFile Types scroll down to you see XLS Files Click on AdvancedOpen edit the entry to something like the following (this is the setting for my machine) "C:\Program Files\OfficeXP\Office11\EXCEL.EXE" /e %1 for my XLSX files it is "C:\Program Files\OfficeXP\Office12\EXCEL.EXE" /e %1 When you installed 2007, it may have changed the setting for XLS files to also look at Office 12 (XL2007) -- Regards Roger Govier "LynnK" wrote in message ... Thanks for your reply. I cannot, however, find "Folder Options" under the
Tools Menu. (I am using IE 7). Could it be somewhere else? -- Lynn K "LynnK" wrote: I need to have both Excel 2003 and 2007 because some programs I use for my business aren't fully compatible with 2007.
