Text Files
Hi
I am looking to link to multiple text files to obtain certain statistical data and amalgamate it into on line of data in excel. When linking to the text files, i open them in excel using the import wizard and create links to the cells that the data i need can be found in. The data does not update however, stating that it is unable to open the file. Does anyone know how i can link to these files so that every day when the spreadsheet it opened it will automatically update. Thanks Chris |
Text Files
Excel links to cells (rows and columns).
Your text file doesn't have anything like that--it's simply text. So maybe you could open the .txt file, save as a .xls and then link to that file. If you use the same name for the .xls file each day, your links should update ok.
