Text Files

Hi

I am looking to link to multiple text files to obtain certain statistical
data and amalgamate it into on line of data in excel. When linking to the
text files, i open them in excel using the import wizard and create links to
the cells that the data i need can be found in. The data does not update
however, stating that it is unable to open the file.

Does anyone know how i can link to these files so that every day when the
spreadsheet it opened it will automatically update.

Thanks
Chris

Text Files

Excel links to cells (rows and columns).

Your text file doesn't have anything like that--it's simply text.

So maybe you could open the .txt file, save as a .xls and then link to that
file.

If you use the same name for the .xls file each day, your links should update
ok.
