Trying to create a spreadsheet with values and counting them. How do I
insert a symbol then allocate a defined value as per row above

Subject line of "Data Validation" has no relevance considering the description
of your needs.

The needs are very vague also.

What type of values?

How will you count them?

Insert what type of symbol?

Allocate a value to the symbol based upon a value from a row above the symbol?

Where in that row would the defined value be located and how is it generated?
