How to create a template in Excel 2003
I am just trying to create a simple template but I cannot find how to get to
the template wizard. I have looked under every heading, file, edit, view, insert, format, tools, data, window, and every subheading in these catagories all to no avail. I am sure I am just overlooking something simlpe. Any suggestions? |

You sure you just didn't want to save the file as a Template (*.xlt).
It's in the File|SaveAs dialog under the save as type box. mmcap wrote: I am just trying to create a simple template but I cannot find how to get to the template wizard. There is no Template Wizard installed with 2003...or 2002 for that matter.
You would have to download an earlier version and have better luck than I've had with running it. Keeps telling me I can't run it while Excel is embedded in another application. Unable to clear that proble. Just save your workbook as a *.xlt as Dave suggests. But you won't get the additional data-tracking workbook that the Wizard gave you. With XL2003 the Template Wizard when loaded in ToolsAdd-ins shows up on the Data menu. I click on it and get "cannot run template wizard while excel is embedded in another application" Have chased this until blue in the face but cannot defeat it. "ignore other applications" on or off......no difference. Went so far as to disable AV and some other apps but no joy. Any ideas? Anybody? Hi Gord
I just copied WZTEMPLT.XLA from a Library folder in Office 2000 to my C:\Program Files\OfficeXP\OFFICE11\Library ToolsAddinBrowse to that subdirectory, it loaded and appears to work OK. If you don't have a copy, mail me direct and I will send it to you. Remove NOSPAM from address to mail -- Regards Roger Govier "Gord Dibben" <gorddibbATshawDOTca wrote in message ...
