Formula Help
Hello all,
I am trying to create a formula that will take the information in the column to the left and fill in the cell with the information in the right column. For example, I have the following: R/C FACTOR 1 35 2 36 3 37 4 38 6 39 7 40 8 41 9 41 10 42 12 43 13 44 15 45 16 46 17 47 18 49 20 50 21 51 22 53 23 54 24 56 25 57 26 58 28 60 29 61 30 63 31 65 I need the formula to take the RC value that I type into one cell and put the corresponding Factor in the formula cell. So if I type 1 in the cell, the formula would compute it to be 35, if I type 30, it would say 63. How would I do this? |

if you want the 1 to be replaced with 35 in the same cell, you will need a
macro to do so. if you want to have a different Cell show 35 when you enter a 1 into a given cell, the try Vlookup(). I want the 35 to show in a f differnet cell when I enter 1 in a given cell. I
have tried Vlookup and am not having much luck due to my lack of familiarity with it. Can you provide the basic formula to get started? Say that table is on Sheet2 in columns A and B--and you're typing the number in
Sheet1 A1. Then you could use this in B1 to get that factor back: =if(a1="","",vlookup(a1,sheet2!a:b,2,false)) Debra Dalgleish has lots of notes on =vlookup() and =index(match()) he http://www.contextures.com/xlFunctions02.html (for =vlookup()) and http://www.contextures.com/xlFunctions03.html (for =index(match())) Duckyspawn wrote: I want the 35 to show in a f differnet cell when I enter 1 in a given cell.
