Cannot change default folder in tools options

I am using Excel 2002 and we have a network administrator. We are not
allowed to make any changes to our computers. I have tried to change
my default folder thru tools, user, but even though the folder in the
entry box is the folder that I wanted to be the default, when I save
as, the old folder still is opened. Is this because we are locked
down on what we can do on our computers? Thanks in advance.

You don't say where you would like the new default folder to be. If it's the
local drive, I suspect that your company policy would not allow that and all
your files should be saved to a networked server.
