What version of Excel do I need for Windows XP Home edition?
I have a friend (really!) who will be re-entering the workforce after 6
years. She is an accountant and needs to learn Excel. Her laptop has Windows XP Home Edition, which does not include Excel. I have several questions: What version of Excel is compatible with Windows XP Home edition? What's the cheapest way to get it? (She has very little money at this point.) Thanks for any help! |

Any version, from 97 to 2007 should work okay with XP Home. With her
shortage of money, 2007 may well be a non-starter as discounts will be difficult to obtain. Take a look on eBay and see what you can get 2003, 2002 or 2000 for. As ever, due your research on any sellers on eBay. You might want to consider buying Office, not just Excel, as you will get Word and PowerPoint as well, and Access with certain editions, usually for not much more than the single product. You could also enquire as to whether she qualifies for the Student edition, http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/su...674081033.aspx -- HTH Bob (there's no email, no snail mail, but somewhere should be gmail in my addy) "LisaH" wrote in message ...
