Excel opens 2 blank workbooks at start-up. How to correct this?

When I click open an excel file (from File folder), it automatically open 2
blank excel workbooks and then open the file I selected.
I could not find anywhere in the Help section that answers this. If someone
can help me, I would very much appreciated.

have you tried Help, Detect and Repair to reset the file associations?
