I am trying to type (C) in a cell. It changes to the copyright symbol. I have
tried formating as text to no avail. How can I make this entry?

Turn off Auto Correct,
OR
Delete that particular item.

<Tools <AutoCorrect

And look for the "(c)"
And delete it.

Tools/ Autocorrection options/ delete the offending entry.
Or control Z immediately after it does it's "correction".
