Calculation Options

I have a pretty elaborate workbook that seems to be calculating all the time,
even when new data is not being entered. It's starting to slow things down.
Please explain the calculation options and give me some suggestions.

Thanks.

If you use volatile functions like offset, indirect etc they will make the
workbook calculate

if possible it's better to use multiple simple formulas compared to
complicated array formulas with volatile function
