New sheets have their own taskbar buttons - what's up with this?

Hi,
I have an Excel user whose taskbar shows a separate taskbar button for each
Sheet in a workbook, automatically. This happens even just when launching
Excel -- there is a separate taskbar button for each of the three blank
Sheets (Sheet1, Sheet2, Sheet3). She does not want this behavior, and I have
not discovered what is causing it, or how to disable it, or if it's a feature
or a bug (or if there's even a difference ;-).

Any suggestions?
TIA,
Steve

Each sheet? Or each visible window?

If it's the windows, not each sheet...
I'd try tools|options|view tab|uncheck windows in taskbar

Each separate sheet -- not workbook, not Window... but each sheet. It's
strange. We've already tried unchecking "Windows in taskbar." But each
sheet, even all three sheets of a new blank workbook, have their own taskbar
button upon launching Excel, and without any other intervening action.

I don't have a guess.

But you may want to share the versions of windows and excel that you're using.

And anything else you've tried...
