PIVOT TABLE - HELP

Hi there

I have a spreadsheet containing a dump of data from our system,

It has dates in one column.

I have created a pivot table which shows the information side by side
based on the date.

So I have say Customer Name appearing twice and the amount appearing
twice because its on different dates.

So I have only one field for amount.

What I am trying to do is to have them side by side and then calculate
the difference between the AMOUNT field.

When I do add a calculation which is =AMOUNT-AMOUNT the result is 0.

It needs to be done based on the date as I want to compare the
customers sales between January and February to see if there is an
increase or decrease.

Does this make sense??

I appreciate any help....

Andrea
