Row/Column Delete taking longer time

When I delete Columns & rows in Excel, I find the application taking a long
time to respond & many times , returns EXCEL NOT Responding. What could be
the reason.

I tried detect & repair feature. In reinstalled the Office 2003. But yet the
problem persists.

Any help please

Sounds like a memory problem. Try saving the sheet before deleting.

Hi

Do you have any formulae like
=SUM($A$1:A1)
copied down over a large range?
They can take an inordinate amount of to calculate, and can cause the
sort of problem you describe.
Try setting ToolsCalculationto Manual, carry out your deletions, then
set it back to Automatic.
