Deleting Rows and columns

How do I delete unused rows and columns? I tried selecting them and
edit/delete and they are still there.

Example my last used cell is P1000. So I'd like to delete columns
Q:IV. And rows 1001:65536. Is there an easy way? Excel 2003.

You may NOT delete the rows/columns but you can hide them or lock the scroll
bar to not goto them.

No easy way at all..............in fact.........."no way".

Excel 2003 has 256 columns and 65536 rows per worksheet.

You cannot delete them.

You can hide the ones you don't want to use past P1000.
