Suggestion: Excel needs a swap option.
Excel needs an option to easily swap two cells, rows, or columns. They
obviously would need to be the same size, number of cells, etc. It's such a pain to do so now, as, for example, I have to create a new row, copy/paste the data into it, copy/paste the other data over the original data, then go back and delete the original row... ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. Mark
A little easier method. Select the row or column or range then hold SHIFT key and mouse pointer on side of range to drag to where you wish. Two such operations will get the swap completed. I still think a swap option would be useful, but your suggestion is much
appreciated! That definitely helps improve my life with Excel.... :) Thanks! "Gord Dibben" wrote: Mark A little easier method. I agree............select two ranges and hit the "Swap" button would be nice.
You can do it via VBA as David points out. Gord On Thu, 3 May 2007 11:43:03 -0700, Mark Whiteford wrote: I still think a swap option would be useful, but your suggestion is much appreciated! Gord,
I may have not understood you correctly, but I don't know why it takes two operations when you drag-move with Shift to swap stuff. Seems one operation will do it. -- Earl Kiosterud www.smokeylake.com Note: Some folks prefer bottom-posting. But if you bottom-post to a reply that's already top-posted, the thread gets messy. Suggestion: Excel needs a swap option.
Only if the rows or groups of rows to be swapped are adjacent to each other.

Earl
I was assuming OP wanted to move row 1 to row 10 and row 10 to row 1 Takes me two steps.
