Is there a way you can check the last entry or even any access into a
spread sheet? Is there a way to stop somebody from opening a spread sheet if
they are not welcome

Thank you paul, that leaves it as read only and that it what I am trying to
change, I would like it so it can't be read. The computer is used by
different people in the office and most spread sheets and programs have to be
accessed it's just one or to personal files should be kept that way, personal.
Is there any other way?

Stacey, sounds like you put in a password to modify, it will open in read
only, if you select password to OPEN it will ask for a password before the
file opens, so you can't see anything in the file

Stacey, you are looking under the wrong menu, form the file menu, save as,
there is a tools under it, could be called options...., general options,
from there put in a password to open the file, OK, confirm the password, OK,
Save.
The next time you open the workbook you will be asked for a password first.
