Fitting cell to typed word
Excel 2002, I have opened a data base the cells have been set for 25 but my
names are only 6 letters long. When I do a column width adjustment it still stays at 25. I can manually shrink each cell by clicking on the cell and placing my cursor at the end of the word and delete the blanks. But is there a way to do this for the complete data base? |

Do you have any hidden rows that contain longer text?
How about long headers? Ed wrote: Excel 2002, I have opened a data base the cells have been set for 25 but my names are only 6 letters long. When I do a column width adjustment it still stays at 25. I just read David's response.
If your words in that column don't contain any embedded spaces, maybe you could: Select the column edit|Replace what: (spacebar) with: (leave blank) replace all Dave Peterson wrote: Do you have any hidden rows that contain longer text? No Hidden headers or rows that contain text. Just blank spaces after each
word, not allowing me to shrink the cell. But I can go to each cell and delete the blank spaces and it will work. But I need a way to do the complete data "Dave Peterson" wrote: Do you have any hidden rows that contain longer text? How about long headers?
