Counting Data in Columns

I know this has probably been answered a gazillion times before, but I can't
seem to find it.

I have 2 columns, one with a date, the other with text. I need to count the
times "A" appears in column B when column A has a date 3/15/2007. I would
like to think there is a formula I can put at the bottom of column B for both
"A" and "F" for this condition.

3/2/2007 A
3/16/2007 A
3/20/2007 A
3/13/2007 A
4/5/2007 F
4/20/2007 A
3/17/2007 A
3/4/2007 F
3/22/2007 F
3/7/2007 A
4/18/2007 A
3/7/2007 F
3/19/2007 F
3/7/2007 F
4/3/2007 A

Thanks, in advance, for your help!

Try this:

=SUMPRODUCT((A1:A15DATEVALUE("3/15/2007"))*(B1:B15="A"))
