can't open document from icon file
 

Whenever I try to open an excel file when excel isn't already open, I get an
error that says C:\document.xls can't be found and other similar errors and
the file doesn't open. But if I use the open command in excel then it works
fine. What is going on and how can I fix it?

This one appears, on average, about once a day. Or it seems like it. Try Tools - Options -
General tab. Uncheck "Ignore other applications."
