% format in Excel 2003

A colleague & I are both using Excel 2003 but are experiencing differences in
entering percent values. If a cell is formatted with the percent style (%):

On my computer when I type 83 in the cell, it displays as 83%
When she types 83 in the cell, it displays as 8300%

What do we need to change on her system to make it behave like mine?
