excel is not responding when saving to A: loading from A is ok. Task mgr says
not responding. Excel problem or machine? Thanks |

First, I wouldn't open a file directly from a floppy disk. Copy it to your
harddrive (or network drive) and open from there. Lots of things can go wrong when working on floppies (in any application). Curt wrote: excel is not responding when saving to A: loading from A is ok. Task mgr says not responding. Excel problem or machine? Thanks -- Dave Peterson |

1) Do what Dave Peterson told you.
2) When Excel saves a file, it first saves a copy to a temporary file, then deletes the old file, and finally renames the temporary file. If the file is on a floppy disk (or a small-capacity thumb drive) it is easy to exceeed the capacity of the media - 1.4 Mb disk means that xls files over 600 Kb will fail to save.
