Default Time Format

This is such an easy question, I'm almost embarrassed to be asking it...

I have a column that shows time. The cell shows the time the way I want it:
2:00 PM. The formula bar shows this: 2:00:00 PM. Im using the
spreadsheet as part of a Merge document, and its merging the time as 2:00:00
PM.

Ive set the column format to Time, and chose the format that reads 1:30 PM.
It doesnt change anything. I tried changing the column format to Text, but
it gives me the decimal equivalent of the time. Ive tried copying and
pasting using every single option under €śPaste Special€ť but nothing is
working.

Please help me before I do violence to my monitor!

I am assuming by Merge you mean WORD Mail Merge:

Add the time formatting to the merge field in WORD:

\@ "h:mm am/pm"

Topper, I never thought to change the formatting in the OTHER program. Yeah,
I'm merging the time into a Word document, and your trick worked! THANKS!!!!

For those who will search this topic and need further instructions, here's
what I did. I went to my 2002 Word document, found the field for the time
entry, did a right-click and chose "Edit Field." From the Field pop-up that
appeared, I found the "Field Codes" button. I added Topper's formatting to
the Field Code box, and OKed my way out. The field now displayed the time in
the format I wanted. Hooray!
