Auto Filter Option grayed out
Why would the auto filter option be grayed out on my workbook? I dont have a
workbook protection on and can't figure out what other reasons would make it gray out. Only my advance filter option is available. |
Auto Filter Option grayed out
I would suggest that your workSHEET is protected under ToolsProtection

Humm, i went to ToolsProtection and nothing is selected. I added protection
to sheet and workbook and then removed them just to make sure, same thing. Do you have multiple sheets grouped together?
Look for [Group] in the title bar. If you do, then ungroup them. YanYan wrote: Humm, i went to ToolsProtection and nothing is selected. I thought of that, but OP states the Advanced Filter is available which would
not be the case with grouped sheets. If the workbook is shared Autofilter would be available and Advanced would be grayed-out. Thank you all for the suggestions, still havent figured out what is making
the auto filter gray out, it is not procected and it is not grouped. Please let me know if you think of anything else. Could it be a developer who screwed up?
Maybe they wanted to disable the autofilter and never re-enabled it. You could try: Tools|Customize|toolbars tab|Select worksheet menu bar and click Reset You will lose any other customized changes you've made to that toolbar, though.
