Macro to convert text
 

I have a workbook with client details on it, some of which is chosen from
drop down lists. I need to write a macro to take data into two different
templates, in addition, i need some of the text in the orginal sheet to be
converted to a number. i have the look up tables already but not sure where
i need to start.

Any help gratefully received, I can upload an example if necessary.
