Default Does Word have to initialize the root folders everytime?

When I open Excell or Word 2007 and want to open a document, the programs
spend up to 30 seconds "Initializing the root folders to display". This
happens everytime I need a document.

How can I avoid this. This did not happen in Office 2000.

Found this searching Google for your error:
This happens when a user has a disconnected network drive. Open their "My
Computer" and look for any disconnected network drives, if you find some
either remove them or open the drive so it can properly authenticate.
