Cell protection

How can you protect a range of cells (for example, Column A) with a password,
but meanwhile allowing users to access all other cells on the sheet?

Cell protection

Select all cells
Goto CellsFormatProtection and uncheck the Locked Box, then OK
Select JUST the cells to protect
Goto CellsFormatProtection and CHECK the Locked Box, then OK
Goto ToolsProtection and set a worksheet password.

Cell protection

Hi,

Unlock the cells you want users to be able to change. Then protect the sheet.

To unlock cells:

1. Select the range
2. Format-Cells
3. In Protection tab, remove the check on the Lock checkbox

Hope that helps.
