Short answer: No.

But you may have just moved it somehow. Do a Search for the file and maybe
it will be found.

Have you looked in the Recycle Bin? It may be in there.

If you have not written much data to the drive, if you did delete it, there
are tools available that may be able to recover it.

I am sorry, but unless you have a backup copy of the file in another
location, it is probably not going to be found.

You might look into lost data recovery tools such as "Recover My Files" -
http://www.recovermyfiles.com/ which I have used to recover files from
crashed hard drives with good results. They have a trial version that you
can download and use. It will tell you if it finds the file. If it tells
you that it has found the file, then you would have to purchase the program
to actually recover the file.

The more that you use your computer right now, the less chance there will be
of recovery because new files written to the drive may overwrite parts of the
drive where that file was written.

All I can do is wish you good luck.

Did you Save As using a different filename?

Do you have My ComputerToolsFolder OptionsView "hide known file extensions"
checked?

Uncheck it and search again.

I have never seen Excel lose a file without user intervention.

Sir,
I downloaded a tool from the website you mentioned and it is working very
good. But i m very disappointed that which file i want to search it could not
able to detect. I m also very surprised that those files it detected was
deleted before 6 month ago. why this tool is not detected this file was lost
suddenly before 2 days.

This means this file was not deleted manually otherwise this tool surely
able to recover.

is there any other solution sir?

Just open Excel.

1. On the Tools menu, Click Options.
2. In the Options dialog box, click Save.
3. See whether you have selected the Save AutoRecovery infor every <whatever
time is specified is check box. if the you have selected the check box, then
check the AutoRecover save location.

Note: Even if you have not selected Disable the AutoRecover, you can still
recover the file. Provided you said you have not intentionally deleted the
file.

Dear Mr. Prabhu,
Thank you for your suggestion. I did not deleted intentionally and no any
other user deleted the file. Perhaps it is due to power failure. Because when
power supply failed. I exit the file and on the same time after exiting excle
2 second ups backup finished and my computer lost power supply. It may be due
to this reason.

How I can recover this file.

If you can't find the file, then you can't recover it.

It's gone.
