Auto Launch of Macro

When opening excel, my Personal.xls workbook containing my macros opens.
I've held down shift during Excel and computer start up, but this doesn't
prevent the Personal.xls workbook from opening. Additionally, a particular
macro runs on startup. How can I prevent this?
