Default Excel performance vs computer specs

Hi All........
Does anyone have a link to information about the performance of the various
versions of Excel vs processor speed and/or RAM size?.......particularly if
there is any limits whereby increasing processor speed or RAM size yields no
appreciable improvement in Excel performance.
