when i open an excell workbook that i have worked on before
excell now opens another workbook (blank) called PERSONAL.XLS
I recently used a add in recomended by this system to get upper case from
lower case entries. How can i get back to my original openings.

go to Window Menu - Select HIDE. You can make the personal.xls no show up.

I found where "PERSONAL.XLS" was and deleted the file (along with another
one). For me, the file was in "C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Office12\STARTUP". I haven't noticed that deleting the file caused
any harm and now my files open quickly and I only have to click the close "X"
once to close my files and the program.

I used to take upwards of 60 seconds for my files to open if Excel was not
opened first and I had to click the close button twice to exit the file and
program.
