Transferring data to excel spreadsheet 2003

I routinely visit a website for my investments. The performance information
is offered in a grid-like form [without the actual grid]. I find that I can
copy a row of data but the entire rows' data finds its' way into the first
column of the spreadsheet. I know that I can copy each column of information
but the time would be immense. I do not know if this is a function of the
webpage or the configuration of the spreadsheet. Much thanks for any
guidance.

some investing websites like Yahoo havve a feature that you can download a
CSV (commar seperatted values) file. the CSV file can be imported into Excel
on the Data Menu - Import External Data Menu option select Commars as the
delimiter character.
