charts and cells black out when selected
I just installed Excel 2007 in a computer with a 1.73 Gigahertz processor and
2 gb of ram. I have had two major problems. First, Excel seems to send the processor into wait mode (hourglass) frequently and for extended periods. Second, while working on a small spreadsheet, my chart and the cells that depend on it go black when I select the chart. Then the menu area goes patchy, failing to show any useful items. This despite the fact that my cpu usage is only around 10%. All my other programs are working fine. |

You may want to post your question in this group:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...a ng=en&cr=US that's the MSFT Excel Charting area. It sounds like you've discovered another problem with Excel charting. First I've heard of that one. When/if you post there, think about 'answering' these questions in your initial inquiry: How does Excel 2007 act when you don't have any charts in the workbook (still sluggish - still going into recalculate type mode often and for long times)? What type of chart did you create and how many data points are in it? "fisher" wrote: I just installed Excel 2007 in a computer with a 1.73 Gigahertz processor and 2 gb of ram.
