Cannot open excel attachments
I am trying to open an excel attachment from my hotmail account. I am
receiving the following message: filename.xls cannot be accessed. The file may be read only, or you may be trying to access a read only location. Or, the server the document may be stored on is not responding. I get these e-mails from work and have been able to open them previously and no one else seems to be having the same problems. I am running excel 2003 sp2 and the documents are the same. Please help me - Lisa |

Sometimes one of these works when you're having trouble with double clicking on
the file in windows explorer. Maybe it'll fix the problem with the email attachment, too????? Tools|Options|General|Ignore other applications (uncheck it) --- or --- Close Excel and Windows Start Button|Run excel /unregserver then Windows Start Button|Run excel /regserver The /unregserver & /regserver stuff resets the windows registry to excel's factory defaults. Maybe one of these will work for you. Long wrote: I am trying to open an excel attachment from my hotmail account. I am receiving the following message: filename.xls cannot be accessed.
