Why is it that everytime that I run Excel I get a message saying that it is
installing excel features?

you probably have some add-ons selected in <tools<add-ins
You may need them for your calculations so be careful in not having them open

Try re-registering Excel

Close Excel first and On the Windows Taskbar

1) StartRun "excel.exe /unregserver"(no quotes)OK.
2) StartRun "excel.exe /regserver"(no quotes)OK.
See the space between exe and /regserver

You might have to designate a full path to excel.exe.
In that case StartRun "C:\yourpath\excel.exe /regserver"(no quotes)OK.

If no joy, go to Control PanelAdd/remove programs and select Office and
"Change".

Choose the re-install or repair option.

I rececive the same thing upon "hot" or "cold" boot. This applies to Access,
Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Access. There must be a better fix unregserver
and regserver. I have uninstalled, reinstalled and performed a repair from
the add and remove in control panel. Ideas? This is a daily issue now for 6
months. I have just learned to get a cup off coffee while outlook loads and
"Installs components".

You would probably do better going over to the Office Setup news group since all
your Office components are doing the thing.
