excel 2002 opens slowly
Lately, Excel 2002 has been taking minutes to open
It used to open instantly Any advice or help appreciated |
Hi-
Have you installed any Excel updates, add-ins, etc. that may be the cause? When you say "Excel is taking minutes to open", how are you launching the program? If you're actually launching a file to get the program running, it may be where the problem is. Have any changes been made to the file that might slow things down? Normally apps don't just suddenly slow down. Any time there is a noticeable difference in performance it is because SOMETHING has changed. If none of these actions have been taken, there are probably other forces at work. Some ideas on what to check on: Are any other programs slower to load? What is the condition of your Hard Drive? Is there plenty of free space? When was it last defragmented? Hope this is useful |:) "Wadey023" wrote: Lately, Excel 2002 has been taking minutes to open It used to open instantly Any advice or help appreciated |
Quite possibly you have not cleaned out your Temporary Internet Files
recently. See Chip Pearson's site for Startup errors and slow starting. http://www.cpearson.com/excel/StartupErrors.htm Gord Dibben Excel MVP On Wed, 16 Feb 2005 06:17:02 -0800, "Wadey023" wrote: Lately, Excel 2002 has been taking minutes to open It used to open instantly Any advice or help appreciated |
