STILL NEED HELP....

I need help setting up a drop-down list...I'm close to figuring it out, but
it still does not work the way I need it to. Here is what I need:
I have a list of several thousand cities in Column A (and there are several
blank cells in between the list of cities in Column A). I have information
in Column C that corresponds to the individual cities listed in Column A. I
want a drop-down list at the top of Column A that will allow me to select a
specific city, and once selected, will bring me to that individual city and
its corresponding info in Column C. Ok, so in Column A, I have a list of
several
cities. In Column C, I have hospital names and right below the hospital
names, I have demograhic information. Is there a way I can customize some
sort of filter to not include the demographic info and just keep the hopital
names?

Data Filter Autofilter will not work for my C column because it includes
all the demographic information in the drop down box. How can I cusomize it
to only show the Hospital names?

one way to do it is to use a helper column with an indication of "name" or
"Demographics"
use autofilter on both and select name in the helper column and then select
the hospital in the other

If you have both the Demographic info and the Hospital name in the same cell,
then I would split the Demographic info out of the cell and place it in the
adjacent cell. Then the Autofilter could filter on just the Hospital names.

If you have the hospital name in a cell and the demographic info in the cell
below it and a blank cell in column A for that row, you would need to put the
city name in that cell as well to get Autofilter to filter first on the city,
then on the hospital.........

Or, maybe you coult CONCATENATE the CityName and the HospitalName into one
helper column and then Autofilter on that one.

If this is a continuation of a previous thread that is generally
a very bad idea. Your subject convey not information about
your problem and it is in caps, please make an effort to provide
a descriptive subject name.

Have you checked some AutoFilter pages at Debra Dalgleish's site
http://www.contextures.com/tiptech.html

also John McGimpsey may have some at (site seems to be down)
http://www.mcgimpsey.com/excel/
and I can't find what I thought I was looking for in Google cache
