Adding a cell instruction for the user
 

I have linked a cell to a drop down list for the user to select the location
they are at. How do I show the text 'Select your location' in the cell as an
instruction to the user.

You could click on the cell and then 'Insert'.....'comment' then type in what
you want to use for a prompt. When the person mouses over the cell your
comment should pop up.

If the drop-down is by Data Validation, You can display Title and Message
when the cell is selected.
