Shading Split Cells

I am working on a spread sheet and have split a cell into 2 halves
diagonally. I would like to color just one part of the split cell. Can I do
that?
If so, in great detail, how?

Thanks so much for considering my question!!!

Sounds like the cell just has a diagonal border on it. If so, unfortunately,
the answer is no.
You can, however, insert a drawing ubject using triangle, give the triangle
the color you want and fit it where you'd like it...

You have not "split" the cell, just placed a diagonal border through the middle.

You cannot split a cell and you cannot have two background colors in a cell.
