Is there any other merging method other than referencing. Copying the reference is very easy. Describe what type of merging you ae
looking to do? to merge tthe data you are going to need the range of cells you wantt to copy If you want to reference 'HH1'!B2:D5 you are talking about an area that is 3 columns wide and three rows long. if you put in cell A1 ='HH1'!B2 Then copy this formula to the range A1:C3 the 9 original cells will show on the summary sheet. this is a pretty simple operation. And just to add on here, once you have all the data in your third sheet, just
highlight the worksheet, Copy, paste special/values to get rid of your references... "Joel" wrote: Copying the reference is very easy. Tnks for the replies.
Well, I have about 10 worksheets like HH1, HH2, WEd1 & so on. I too have a quite a lot of data in these wk sheets. The solusion you all suggested will do the job but its a long way. Is there another way of transfering data to a main sheet where you have all data you will find on these sheets. Eg. Sheet HH1 Column A Column B Column C Column D Ref Description Amount Contra charge to contra/newy/1 repair elec switch £35 J&H Contra/newy/2 fit DP switch £100 JBS Sheets HH2 Contra/starrant/1 fit bath £150 Newy Contra/Starrant/2 repair tap £90 J&H Now I have 16 shhets like HH1, HH2 at the moment, but can grow up to 20. I would like to craete a wk sheet (summary all trades) where I have all the date from wk sheets HH1, HH2 and so on. I would then like to summarise data in "Summary all Trade" wk sheet according to the contra charge to column. I would like to do this with out referencing as its a long way. tnks. Sanj.
