cannot save change in an excel spreadsheet

I am trying to save changes to an xls spreadsheet. It is saying that the
changes are saved and then when I go back into the spreadsheet the changes
are not there anymore. Anyone know why that is hapening or how to fix it?

Are you sure you're opening the same workbook as the one you saved?

try save as ....
then give it a slightly different name.
Open this newly named and saved as workbook and check.
( only because it could be that you have other copies of this workbook
saved, and the one you constantly save could be located elsewhere than the
one you open to check if the changes are made.)

Perhaps what you are opening is a template file (.xlt) ? IIRC the default
for a save from a template is .xls. The next time you use the template, it's
unchanged ... which is the point of using one in the first place. :) Try
looking for a similarly named .xls file.
