How to stop virus scanning
Whenever a program in MS Office 2003 e.g. Excel or Word is run, or on each
opening of their documents, my computer carries out a virus scan. This is wasting a lot of my time in a day. How can I stop this scanning going on as I already have Norton Antivirus and Zone Alarm installed? TIA Tom |

You need to switch-off scanning in your anti-virus software, not Office. For
example in Norton anti-virus 2006: Options Other Miscellaneous and clear the Office plugin checkbox. -- Gary's Student gsnu200705 "Tom" wrote: Whenever a program in MS Office 2003 e.g. Excel or Word is run, or on each opening of their documents, my computer carries out a virus scan. How to stop virus scanning
MS Office/Excel doesn't scan for viruses.
It is Norton that is doing the scanning. Open the preferences in Norton and tell Norton what to exclude from scanning.
