Automatically update cell value

Hello, i'm fairly new to Excel and i am trying to create a Purchase Order. I
want the P/O number to change automatically everytime i open the document (a
bit like the NOW() formula for the date) is this possible with just numbers?

I'd appreciate any help, thanks Kaitlin

Kaitlin,

One way would be to use something like this, put it in the workbook open
event.
Sub Increase_Number
Sheets("Sheet1").Range("A1").Value = _
Sheets("Sheet1").Range("A1").Value + 1
End Sub

For other ways to do this or if this is going to be used in a temple have a
look here
