If you have a worksheet column that contains merged cells of various sizes
and that column needs to increment the value based on the previous merged cell you can't copy and paste or autofill from one cell to the next becuase of the changing cell references. How do you get around this without having to write a new formula for every cell? eg: Column A1 contains the number 1. The next cell is A2/A3 merged and the cell contains the formula "=A1+1". This works but if you copy this formula to the next cell which is A4/A4/A6 merged the formula does not work. Is there a way around this? |
