Auto log off a user with a worksheet open?

We have an Excel based log sheet many people use. They are supposed to open,
fill out (take the next number), and close right away so the next person who
comes in has "write access" to the file. Problem is some people forget and
leave it open ....

Is there some sort of an "auto log off function" in Excel that we could use
to boot people out after say 5 min?

Thanks for any help!

Not really. Excel isn't designed to be a real-time collaborative tool.
You're trying to bolt database functionality onto a tool that isn't designed
to be a database.
