Turn off Automatically convert number to date
I have this problem where Excel turns a number into a date. Eg. when I input
7440-09-7, Excel turns it into 9/7/7440 which is not what I want. I image there is a setting that can turn this default behavior off. Can someone help me?? Thanks |
Turn off Automatically convert number to date
Hi Ky,
Two options: 1. format the cell as text before inputting the data; or 2. input a tick mark (') as the first character. Turn off Automatically convert number to date
Format the cell as text before you type the number in, or precede the number
with an apostrophe. If you're looking for a global setting, you're out of luck. -- David Biddulph "Ky" wrote in message ... I have this problem where Excel turns a number into a date.
