"Import" data from old version into New?

Hello -

Using some (ok, alot) of help that I got from these Groups, I've
succeeded in developing a very flexible tool for Financial Forecasting
-- it's used by approx 100 people and (so far) they love it! Thanks
to all for their help...

This tool is primarily used about 6x per year (every other month), but
the users should be using it on a continual-basis -- a future
"concern" has occurred to me. What happens when I release an updated
version of this tool? The users can't/shouldn't be bothered to
transfer (read: key-punch) data from the "old" version into the "new"
version.

So, here's the question: is there ANY way to automatically "import"
the data from the old into the New?

TIA!

Nope - Given that you know the layouts of the two versions, I'd think you'd
have to write a piece of code that either copied across every section from
old to new, or that updated their version to the new version by doing all
the changes to their file.

First option is probably safer
